Adding a "You Might Also Like" widget to the end of your Blogger blog post

I'm no expert at these things. Everything I do on my blog, i research extensively for. So in the course of one of these expeditions, :D if I may so call it, I came across this http://www.hubbyjack.com/2013/07/tutorial-tuesday-adding-you-might-also.html.

HubbyJack has such an easy to follow post that I had to follow it....immediately, thankfully.
Otherwise I may never  have have been able to figure out what was going wrong.

Well, what happened with me was that everytime I clicked ADD WIDGET,
I'd get a Blogger error message saying,
"The following errors were found: widget content:  Required field must not be blank. If you are still having trouble, we recommend: Clear your browser's cache and cookies and then try again"

(Silly me did not click a screen shot of that!!  :P Sorry. )

So I did. But, that didn't work.

I also sent a mail to LinkWithin Support and got a standard reply which said they will get back to me
later. But, patience, while sitting with my Ipad with my son away at school, is not one of my qualities.

I recalled facing the same issue while adding LiveFeed to my blog but, they had an alternate method of manually adding the url for the widget.

So, I researched some more. This time on the LinkWithin page itself and was rewarded with some urls on their FAQ page.

See no. 4.?

That one gives you the url which will help you manually add the LinkWithin widget to your blogpost.

So, once you reach the Blogger- Add Element page, you type LinkWthin in the Title.

Then, click on Edit Content, which opens an empty box. ( which is the cause of all problems. As, for whatever reason, the url doesn't automatically get attached here. Or the blog gods are just put to get me!!! )
Add the url from no. 4 ( in the pic above) OR this <div class="linkwithin_div"></div>

Aaaaaand you are DONE....once you hit ADD WIDGET.

Ta da!! Now your blogger layout opens up. And if you notice the right column, like in the pic below, you will see your brand new LinkWithin widget.

You can now now move the widget wherever you want.

Congratulations! You now not only have this widget but, you also are armed with the knowledge of how to get a stubborn widget on your blogger blog in the future.

That gave me a feeling of such accomplishment and made me so happy 😃.

Thank you for visiting my page.

Hope to see you again...

❤ Marina
